An initiative of the AYO Youth Council
Since its establishment in 2024, the AYO Youth Council has been a voice for the young artists in our community. This year, the council is setting it sights on the broader artistic landscape and connecting with peers across artforms. The result is the Changemakers Summit. The program has been curated by the council members and includes esteemed researchers, policymakers, and professional artists.
Responding to a key pillar of the National Cultural Policy, Centrality of the Artist, the participants aim to deepen their understanding of the challenges and opportunities they face as they embark on diverse artistic careers.
The AYO Youth will welcome special guest speakers and delegates from AYO, AFTRS, and alumni of the Australian Government’s Creative Industries Youth Advisory Council and looks forward to an inspiring and insightful event. Following the event, the AYO Youth Council will take over Newsbeat, our monthly newsletter. Make sure you are subscribed to receive all the updates.
AYO is deeply grateful to the Centre for Creativity at the Sydney Opera House and Louise Herron for supporting the initiative.
