A cross-section of AYO participants has been selected to take part in an online professional development series hosted by Samuel Cairnduff, Director of RESONATE Cultural Leadership. The series is designed to foster inclusive dialogue in orchestral music and explore key themes such as cultural diversity, accessibility, and innovation. Participants in the program create reflective pieces after each encounter, which we look forward to sharing here over the course of the year.
Session 1: Deborah Cheetham-Fraillon AO
In the first session, participants had the opportunity to converse with Professor Deborah Cheetham-Fraillon AO, exploring topics of cultural confidence, challenges facing musicians now and into the future, and the place of Western classical music in Australian identity.
