About
Bryn hails from Goulburn, NSW and has just finished his fourth year at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (SCM) studying a Bachelor of Music (Orchestral Percussion) under several different percussionists including:
- Kevin Man – Associate Principal Percussion, Opera Australia
- Mark Robinson – Associate Principal Timpani/Section Percussion, Sydney Symphony Orchestra
- Ian Cleworth – Ex-Principal Percussion, Sydney Symphony Orchestra & Co-Founder, Taikoz
- Antoine Siguré – Principal Timpani, Sydney Symphony Orchestra
Notable performances from Bryn in his time with SCM include:
- SCM Wind Symphony’s Tour to Japan and South Korea in 2024.
- SCM New Music Ensemble’s program on 19th September 2025 conducted by Sam Weller, performing for Simone Young in celebration of her receiving an honorary doctorate from Sydney University.
As well as this, he has had the opportunity to play with a number of ensembles in Sydney including Sydney Youth Orchestra, ARCO Young Mannheim Symphonists, Sydney Concert Orchestra, Western Sydney Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Sydney City Brass Band, Australian Indian Orchestra, Australian Vietnamese Youth Orchestra, and more.
This is Bryn’s second year with Australian Youth Orchestra, and he is excited to be
joining the flagship orchestra for the first time.
