Photo Gallery: AYO at the Met
On June 16, an audience at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, was treated to a powerful performance by acclaimed composer and yidaki virtuoso William Barton, joined by an AYO string quartet, comprising of violinists Robert Smith and Hannah Kim, violist Amayah Ryan, and cellist Noah Lawrence.
The Australia at the Met gala, hosted by the Australian Consulate-General was in celebration of the first permanent display of First Nations Australian art. The quartet was joined by AYO CEO Kimbali Harding, with prominent Australian figures Julie Bishop and Katie Noonan also in attendance.
AYO was kindly supported by the International Cultural Diplomacy Arts Fund (ICDAF), which supports Australia’s global cultural engagement to increase access to international audiences.
