About the National Music Camp Orchestral Management Program

Behind every orchestra is a hard-working team of operations and production staff. As a participant in the Orchestral Management program, you will be part of the team ensuring the many AYO National Music Camp activities happen smoothly and safely. Learn the ins and outs of an orchestral manager’s responsibilities from an industry professional- and dive into writing stage plans, managing rehearsals and chamber concerts, and troubleshooting any challenges that come their way.

Learning from an industry expert, you’ll develop the skills to help keep the orchestra running smoothly as you master the essentials of stage management, foresight and planning. Put your new skills to the test as you expertly manage the two weeks of rehearsals and concert series at AYO National Music Camp.

From the minute you arrive at AYO National Music Camp, you’ll experience a whirl of new faces and first encounters with Australia’s brightest young players, composers, sound engineers and music journalists. With an action-packed schedule, it’s important that your focus is on the program at hand. Rest assured, you will be well looked after, allowing you to concentrate on your preparation and performance. We provide airport transfers, comfortable shared accommodation and three meals per day.
