Instruments
Minimum standard AMEB AMusA or equivalent
You may apply for this program as an individual musician or an established ensemble.
Applications are open to individual violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, tuba and piano players, as well as established string quartets, wind quintets, brass quintets and piano trios.
Repertoire to include
Ensemble-in-Residence Flinders Quartet is a Melbourne-based string quartet founded in 2000. Their motto is “caring for tradition, daring to be different”. The Quartet often incorporate other art forms into their performances, such as intertwining Shakespeare monologues into Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream or getting audience members to write Haiku poems to accompany Webern. Strong commitment to the growth of Australian chamber music. Current members: Elizabeth Sellars (violin), Wilma Smith (violin), Helen Ireland (viola), Zoe Knighton (cello).
