In 2025, the Australian Youth Orchestra presents an extraordinary season of over 20 concerts, including an international tour across Europe. Performing in some of the world’s most renowned concert halls, AYO journey will culminate in a homecoming concert at the Sydney Opera House.

This season marks AYO’s triumphant return to the world stage with its first international tour in six years, captivating audiences at Europe’s most prestigious venues under the leadership of maestro David Robertson (Julliard School of Music; New York Philharmonic). Professor Scott Harrison, AYO Chair, says, “The dream of touring once again to Europe is finally a reality, thanks to the commitment of the Australian Government through Arts8, which ensures our elite musicians are afforded pinnacle performance opportunities.”
The excitement continues with Britain’s dynamic young conductor, Kerem Hasan, making his Australian debut, and ACO’s renowned cellist Timo-Veikko ‘Tipi’ Valve joining AYO’s rising stars for performances that are both challenging and transcendent. Kimbali Harding, CEO of AYO, emphasises, “AYO is committed to representing the very best of Australian culture in all its vibrant diversity. Participants will be mentored by award-winning composer Jessica Wells and perform works by Miriam Hyde, Anne Carr- Boyd—in an updated arrangement of an AYO-commissioned piece—and William Barton. We also welcome leading lights of classical music from overseas.”

Lachlan Bramble, Chair of the AYO Artistic Advisory Committee, says, “An AYO concert is more than just a concert.
