This marked Molly’s first solo project. In her own words, ‘Elva is a song cycle for viola and voice, featuring eleven Australian commissions by friends and Molly herself, all of which are heavily influenced by folk, improvisatory, experimental and contemporary classical music. The title of the project, Elva, is from Molly’s great-grandmother. Molly never met her great-grandmother but reflected that ‘[Elva] no doubt influenced her life in a multitude of unseen ways.’
