Alex is an Australian oboist currently studying at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) under the guidance of Jeffrey Crellin. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Conall McClure, Alex has a strong focus on orchestral and chamber performance and is committed to developing a professional career.

Alex has performed with a range of leading Australian ensembles, including the Australian Youth Orchestra, Opera Australia, Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Darwin Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra. Orchestral highlights include performing Richard Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben with the Australian Youth Orchestra and appearances with Opera Australia in productions such as The Nutcracker.

At ANAM, Alex has participated in major orchestral and chamber projects including Brahms’ Symphony No. 2, Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, Gran Partita, and the Janáček opera with Victorian Opera company.

Alex has undertaken masterclasses with Diana Doherty, Johannes Grosso, Bobby Cheng, Dominik Wollenweber, Ivan Podyomov, Fabian Thouand, and Nick Deutsch, and continues to refine their playing through intensive ensemble work and collaborative performance training. Outside of music, Alex enjoys skateboarding around Melbourne in his free time.
