About
Elana is an 18-year-old flautist from the Central Coast, in NSW. First inspired by her brother, she began her musical journey 10 years ago with her teacher Vanessa Couper. In 2024, she achieved her Associate diploma in flute, and she loves performing at every opportunity including in competitions, concerts and ensembles.
Elana completed high school in 2025 receiving recognition for her performances and composition. She has developed her skills in workshops and masterclasses with professional flautists and will be commencing university studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, in 2026.
In 2023, while principal flute with the NSW Regional Youth Orchestra, Elana participated in workshops and performances with the London Symphony Orchestra, at the Sydney Opera House. She also collaborated on projects with The Australian World Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
Elana’s passion for orchestra started at Central Coast Youth Orchestra, in 2020. A highlight in 2025, was playing as lead flute in AYO’s Young Symphonists, and performing at the Snow Concert Hall in Canberra. Elana will be travelling to Europe, with SYO on their International Tour in April.
Elana is looking forward to the friendships and amazing opportunities with AYO and is very excited to be joining the Flagship Orchestra’s Summer Season in Melbourne.
