Ellie Kyoung (16) is a Year 11 student at Brisbane State High School who began playing the violin at age nine. She received an Award with Distinction for her Licentiate exam at 13 years old and was a finalist in the QSO Young Instrumentalist Prize in 2024 and 2025, most recently winning 2nd prize and in 2025, she also won first place at the Brisbane Youth International Music Festival. Ellie attended the Heifetz Institute Summer Camp in 2024 and has been a member of the Queensland Youth Symphony from 2023 to 2026, touring with them internationally in 2023 and holding the associate concertmaster position in 2025 and 2026. Additionally, she has been a member of the UQ Chamber Academy since 2025 and competed at Strike a Chord in a piano trio, placing 3rd place.
