Felix Gilmour is a percussionist and drummer currently living and studying in Melbourne. Since he was in primary school, learning music has always been an integral part of his life, taking private lessons for piano, drums, concert percussion, music theory, and composition, all the way from prep to year 12. Felix is currently studying classical percussion and timpani with Brent Miller and Shaun Trubiano at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

Felix is experienced in orchestral and concert music, having been a member of the Melbourne Youth Orchestras programme from 2018 to 2023. Felix is currently a member of the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and the University of Melbourne Wind Symphony, as well as a member of the MCM’s percussion ensemble ‘MYRIAD’. Some recent highlights include attending the 2026 AYO National Music Camp, completing an east coast tour with the University of Melbourne Wind Symphony as principal percussion in 2025, and winning the 2024 MSO Snare Drum Award.

Felix’s love for hitting things musically extends far beyond the orchestra. Coming from a drumming background, Felix will always be a drummer at heart, attending jam sessions throughout Melbourne and also being active in the musical theatre scene. In 2025, Felix was active as a recording artist, having played on new albums by Kutcha Edwards and Oliver Downes.
