At the Australian Youth Orchestra, we believe in the transformative power of music for young people. For over 70+ years, we’ve been providing life-changing experience based training for young musicians across Australia, and unparalleled performance opportunities. As a participant and subsequent alumni of an AYO program, you become part of a supportive community of musicians where creative passion ignites, skills are honed, and friendships are forged.
The John Bishop Circle honours individuals who have chosen to leave a bequest to AYO, while paying tribute to the achievements of one of our founders, John Bishop. Just as it took visionary individuals to create National Music Camp from which AYO has grown, it takes a visionary person to leave a legacy that will change the lives of thousands of young musicians.
Becoming a valued member of the Circle allows us to publicly recognise and thank you for your contribution, along with invitations to attend AYO concerts and private receptions, and to receive regular updates on AYO activities.
Every gift, no matter the size, makes a tangible difference to young musicians and the future of Australian classical music. Your generosity will directly support:
- Scholarships and financial assistance so no musician is left behind because of cost or distance.
- Engaging world-class conductors, soloists, and mentors to inspire and train our musicians.
- National and international tours with our Flagship Orchestra that give our musicians the experience of performing on global stages.
- Through Music in Me, bringing music education to primary school classrooms in every corner of the country, changing the lives of children and teachers alike.
How to leave a gift in your Will
Residuary Bequest: A portion or the remainder of your estate.
Pecuniary Bequest: A specific sum of money.
Specific Gift: A particular asset, such as shares, property, or a valuable instrument*.
We greatly appreciate general or untied gifts, as they allow us to invest in areas of work with the most pressing needs, which can change over time. *If you would like to direct your gift to a specific area, we encourage you to contact us for a confidential discussion before finalising these details.
